IX Insecticide resistance experiments

چکیده
Insecticide resistance in pests of outdoor crops has been known in Denmark since the 1980s when resistance to pyrethroids in the peach-potato aphid in sugar beets was found. In the 1990s, coating of sugar beet seeds with neonicotinoids eliminated this problem. Reports of failure of pyrethroids are widespread from Christmas tree to strawberry production. This may be related to resistance, but this has not been verified.

Testing insecticide resistance management strategies: mosaic versus rotations.
BACKGROUND Developing scientifically valid, economically acceptable insecticide resistance management (IRM) programs is critical for sustainable insect management. The diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (L.), has demonstrated an ability to develop resistance to many different classes of insecticides, including proteins produced by the bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis Berliner (Bt). Recently ...
متن کاملResistance irrelevant CYP417A2v2 was found degrading insecticide in Laodelphax striatellus
Cytochrome P450 monooxygenases (CYPs) usually overexpressed in resistant strain were found involved in oxidative detoxification of insecticides. In this study, an investigation was conducted to confirm if resistance irrelevant CYPs which were not overexpressed in resistant strain before, were capable of degrading insecticides. Three resistance irrelevant CYPs viz. CYP417A2v2, CYP425A1v2, and CY...
متن کاملMonitoring Pyrethroid Insecticide Resistance in Major Malaria Vector Anopheles culicifacies: Comparison of Molecular Tools and Conventional Susceptibility Test
<Anopheles culicifacies is a main malaria vector in southeastern part of Iran, bordring Afghanistan and Pakistan. So far, resistance to DDT, dieldrin, malathion and partial tolerance to pyrethroids has been reported in An. stephensi, but nothing confirmed on resistance status of An. culicifacies in Iran. Methods: In current study, along with WHO routine susceptibility test with DDT (4%), di...
متن کاملGut Microbiota Mediate Insecticide Resistance in the Diamondback Moth, Plutella xylostella (L.)
The development of insecticide resistance in insect pests is a worldwide concern and elucidating the underlying mechanisms is critical for effective crop protection. Recent studies have indicated potential links between insect gut microbiota and insecticide resistance and these may apply to the diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (L.), a globally and economically important pest of cruciferous...
متن کاملCostly Inheritance and the Persistence of Insecticide Resistance in Aedes aegypti Populations
Global emergence of arboviruses is a growing public health concern, since most of these diseases have no vaccine or prevention treatment available. In this scenario, vector control through the use of chemical insecticides is one of the most important prevention tools. Nevertheless, their effectiveness has been increasingly compromised by the development of strong resistance observed in field po...
